Proprieta Sperino L Franc 2016 is a full-bodied Cabernet Franc red wine from the Alto Piemonte region of northern Italy. This elegant barrel-aged red comes from a single 0.4ha plot of Cabernet Franc vines growing on sandy gravel soils in the Orolungo sub-region of Lessona. The estate is owned by Paolo di Marchi of Isole e Olena fame. The wine is matured in barriques (50% new) for 40 months before release. Deeply coloured with dense layers of ripe cassis, plum and mocha-tobacco spice, this is an elegant if atypical Lessona red wine with fine savoury tannins and a long, elegant finish.
