Piedmont Wines
The key varieties here are Nebbiolo, Barbera and Dolcetto for reds and Cortese for whites. Nebbiolo wines are usually pale ruby in colour, with a wonderful red fruited, floral intensity, structured by a full body, high acidity and tannins and often high alcohol levels. These are truly powerful wines, built to evolve and stand the test of time. Our shelves brim with a star-studded cast of highly sought-after producers, the likes of Roagna, Coterno and Gaja, in a glorious array of formats.
Although a go-to region for high quality reds, Piedmont is also known for the quality of its dry white wines. Predominantly made from the local Cortese variety, these wines show zesty citrus, white peach and blossom notes, but can also be made from international varieties such as Chardonnay.
