La Croix St Georges 2011 is a medium-bodied, Merlot-based red wine from the Pomerol appellation of Bordeaux. Counting Château Petit Village, Vieux Château Certan, La Croix and Le Pin as near neighbours, the modest estate of Château La Croix St Georges cultivating about 95% Merlot and the rest Cabernet Franc. The château was previously home to the Order of Hospitaliers of Saint John of Jerusalem. On the 2011 grand vin. "One of Pomerol`s more reasonably priced offerings, the 2011 La Croix Saint-Georges reveals a dense purple colour along with a sweet bouquet of melted chocolate, toasty oak, blackberries and cedar. Full-bodied with outstanding ripeness, a supple texture, decent acidity and well-integrated tannin, it should drink well for 10-15 years." Robert Parker, 2012
