Tenuta di Passopisciaro Contrada Rampante 2015 is a single-vineyard Nerello Mascalese-based red wine from Mount Etna, Sicily. Passopisciaro is at the vanguard of the `Etna renaissance` which in recent years has seen the terroir-focused volcanic wines of Mount Etna rise to the top echelon of the world`s wines. The Contrada Rampante cuvée uses grapes sourced from a vineyard area at 1,000 above sea level on the north side of Etna and is matured for 18 months in large oak casks. Brooding and energetic with perfumed red fruits, hints of iodine and a fine, tannic finish.
