Vignolo Cavallotto Barolo Riserva 2008 is a full-bodied red wine produced from Nebbiolo grapes in the Barolo appellation of Piedmont, northern Italy. This riserva bottling is produced from Vignolo, a vineyard site located within a stone`s throw of Bricco Boschis. The wine was matured in Slavonian oak botti of various sizes for up to 60 months and bottled in 2014. Producer note. "The 2008 vintage gave us wines of great power and precision, with the potential for long cellaring. Even in the sandier soils of Vignolo, the wines of 2008 will age effortlessly for decades. The nose of roses, black fruits, licoricey and tobacco is subtle and focused. The palate, with characteristic floral elements of a cooler growing season, is long and richly complex, but not heavy; this is a wine that reveals itself without hurry. The finish goes on and on, showing the focus of the vintage." 2015
