Massolino Barolo 2019 is a full-bodied Nebbiolo from the family-owned Massolino estate in Serralunga, in the heart of the Barolo DOCG of Piedmont. Massolino was founded in 1896 and is a byword for classically proportioned Barolos which marry traditional methods, terroir sensibility and a contemporary sense of polish in the final wines. The 2019 Barolo was aged in large Slavonian oak casks for up to 30 months. “The 2019 Barolo is a very serious wine. Readers looking for an easy-going, entry-level Barolo will not find that here. Bright and sizzling with tannin, the 2019 is going to need at least a few years to fully come together.
