Roagna Barbaresco Crichët Pajé 2015 is a full-bodied, single-vineyard Nebbiolo red wine from the Barbaresco appellation of Piedmont, northern Italy. Roagna Nebbiolos are defined by long macerations and possess a striking fruit purity and ageability. Located in the heart of the Pajé vineyard area, Crichet is a tiny, south west-facing parcel rich in white calcareous soil, with a high content of active limestone. The resulting wines from this vineyard display compact Nebbiolo red fruit and spice notes married to the elegance which is Roagna`s hallmark. "The Barbaresco Pajè 2018 is a brooding, introverted wine. Mineral and spicy notes dominate, while the fruit remains in the background. The Pajè has developed wonderfully since my first tasting a few months ago. The flavours in particular are very expressive. Like all the 2018s here, the Pajè is a Barbaresco of unobtrusive complexity. It will be interesting to see whether the lively tannins give way a little." Vinous
