A very mature vintage Nebbiolo from Aldo Conterno, one of the great names of Barolo winemaking. The son of Giacomo Conterno, and so part of the now-revered Conterno winemaking dynasty, Aldo sought to make Barolos in a softer, more fruit-forward style than his father. Yet his Nebbiolos could still be described as classical, with ageing in traditional large-format oak botti and with a rare level of complexity that was only revealed after many years of ageing in bottle.
