Amarone Classico Bertani 1988
The historical Bertani winery was founded in 1857 by the brothers Giovan Battista and Gaetano Bertani, in Quinto di Valpantena, north of Verona. This 1988 Recioto della Valpolicella, among the world’s longest-lived wines, owes its strength and power to the same method used to make the dry Amarone. On the nose, aromas of cherries, plums, fruit jam and almonds. The palate is elegant and velvety, with a refreshing acidity and finishing on spicy notes.
