Villa Raiano Taurasi 2017 is a full-bodied red wine produced from the Aglianico grape in the Campania region of southern Italy. The family-owned Villa Raiano was established in 1996 on a property overlooking the Sabato river near San Michele di Serino in the Southern Apennines. The grapes for the estate`s Taurasi 2017 were sourced from the vineyard of Castelfranci - a site on clay-limestone soils at an altitude of 500m. The wine was matured in barriques and tonneaus for 24 months and displays intense fruit notes of blackberry, plum and sour cherry, with accents of tobacco leaf and smoked meat. While ready to drink now this is a wine which will benefit from a further five to 10 years in bottle.
