Villa Raiano Taurasi 2018 showcases Aglianico grapes from the Campania region of Italy, a varietal known for its capacity to mature beautifully. The wine presents a deep ruby color, hinting at its concentrated character. On the nose, it offers aromas of ripe dark berries, plum, and subtle earthy undertones, complemented by hints of tobacco and spice. The palate reveals a structured profile with firm tannins and balanced acidity, leading to a long, persistent finish.

This Taurasi is aged for at least three years, with a minimum of 18 months in oak barrels, allowing it to develop complexity. The 2018 vintage is noted for its warm growing season, resulting in grapes that achieved optimal ripeness. As a DOCG wine, Taurasi is regarded for its aging potential, often improving with time. Pair it with hearty dishes such as braised meats or aged cheeses to fully appreciate its depth.

The darkly alluring 2018 Taurasi smolders up with a blend of crushed ashen stones and musky black currants lifted by a touch of citrus. This is cool-toned and round on the palate, with mineral-inflected black fruits and savory spices that swirl throughout. It finishes structured and tense, as red plum and orange rind pucker the cheeks.
