Château Le Tertre Rôteboeuf 2005 is a full-bodied, Merlot-based red wine from the St-Emilion appellation of Bordeaux. Le Tertre Roteboeuf is one of the unsung stars of St-Émilion often overlooked in favour of its more glamorous neighbours, yet since 1989, this 6-hectare estate has been producing some of the appellation’s finest wines. 2005 was widely lauded as an exceptional vintage and this is a stunningly seamless release of incredible perfume, richness of fruit and spicy complexity. "It is still early days for the 2005 Tertre Rôteboeuf, but the wine is already quite expressive, bursting with spicy ripe blackcurrant, tar, mocha and some incipient truffly soil tones. On the palate the wine is rich, broad and structured, and is much less expansive and open at this stage than the 2000 as the tannins really need a few more years to melt away. This will be spectacular in the fullness of time." William Kelley, 2016
