Dating back to 1787, the Vallana family has been making high-quality wines in Alto Piemonte for over two centuries. Spanna is the name given to the Nebbiolo grape north of the Langhe, and this 1961 vintage is a rare example of their back catalogue. On the nose, the wine has intense notes of black fruits, cedarwood and smoky caramel. The palate is deep with notes of liquorice, black fruits, and earth. Medium length, but very tasty.
