The 2018 Seghesio Old Vines Zinfandel is a testament to the winery`s dedication to working with old-vine vineyards in Sonoma County. It is made from a blend of Zinfandel grapes sourced from various vineyard sites, with vines aged between 50 and 120 years old. The age of the vines contributes to the wine`s depth and concentration, as the gnarled, low-yielding vines produce fruit with exceptional character and intensity. The nose suggests blackberries, raspberries and dark cherries, complemented by hints of black pepper, clove and mocha. On the palate, this full-bodied wine delivers rich, concentrated flavours of dark fruit, baking spices, and a touch of vanilla from oak aging.
