Gitton`s `Galinot` vineyard, covering 0.7 hectares and facing east, is situated on `Silex` soil known for imparting a distinctive smoky, mineral quality to Sauvignon Blanc wines. Planted in 1959, the vines naturally yield low quantities of grapes with intensely concentrated flavours. The wine undergoes ageing in large oak barrels for a duration of 9 to 12 months. These combined elements contribute to the creation of an exceptionally complex style of Sancerre, capable of maturing gracefully over many years.
