Established in 1897 in the village of Chiuro, the Nino Negri estate is situated in the Valtellina valley, nestled on the southern fringes of the Alps. In 1986, it joined the extensive Gruppo Italiano Vini company. Over a span of four decades following his appointment as the estate`s oenologist, Casimiro Maule was responsible for making the wines. The 1979 Inferno was produced from 100% Nebbiolo grapes, also known locally as Chiavennasca. Expect layers of dried red berries, dried figs, and hints of orange peel, providing a balance between fruitiness and tertiary characteristics.
