Tenuta di Passopisciaro Contrada Sciaranuova 2015 is a single-vineyard Nerello Mascalese-based red wine from Mount Etna, Sicily. Passopisciaro is at the vanguard of the `Etna renaissance` which in recent years has seen the terroir-focused volcanic wines of Mount Etna rise to the top echelon of the world`s wines. The Contrada Sciaranuova cuvée uses grapes sourced from a 1ha vineyard at 800m elevation. Sciaranuova means “new lava flow” and indicates the relative youth of the volcanic rock of this site. Expect bright aromatics, with dusty, herbal red fruits suggestive of volcanic origin.
