Mounir and Rotem Saouma, of Burgundy producer Lucien Le Moine, have always had profound love for the Grenache variety and of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation, and have slowly managed to acquire 21 acres of exceptional quality vines across all its 5 villages. Arioso comes from a tiny plot in the prime area of Pignan with vines planted in the 1930s and is made from 100% Grenache. From the classic 2014 vintage this a wonderful release that is satin-textured and brilliantly balanced, offering up notes red cherry, roses, wild herbs and stoney mineral freshness. Less blockbuster and more Burgundy.
