An exciting find from The Buena Vista Vinicultural Society, formed in 1863 by the winery’s founder, Count Agoston Haraszthy. This stellar red is produced from the rare Valdiguié grape, a varietal formerly known as Napa Gamay and an ancestor of Malbec and was aged for 10 months in 100% French oak used barrels. The 2019 release exhibits a deep purple colour with effusive floral aromatics. Flavours of dark red cherry, blackberry and pomegranate spread across the palate with a touch of black pepper. Medium-bodied with bright acidity and an elegant mouth feel, this wine is immediately delightful.
