Aldo Conterno Barolo Granbussia Riserva 1997 is a full-bodied, single-vineyard Nebbiolo red wine from the Barolo appellation of Piedmont, northern Italy. In 1969, Aldo Conterno broke away from the family business to establish his own winery in Bussia, Monforte d’Alba. Aldo’s three sons Stefano, Franco and Giacomo now run the winery and continue to produce some of the region’s finest wines from their 25-hectares of prime vineyards. Granbussia is seen as the ultimate expression of the estate as it is produced by blending grapes from the oldest and most expressive parcels from the Romirasco, Cicala and Colonnello vineyards. Only produced in exceptional vintages, it remains in the cellar for at least nine years before release. "Deepish ruby. Autumn undergrowth. Rich and round and flattering. Still with quite a bit of acidity . Transparent. Certainly no hint of oak! Dry, palate scrub finish. Smoky bonfire nose. Bone dry, Côte Rôtie silkiness." Jancis Robinson MW, 2012
