Contratto dates back to 1867 when Giuseppe Contratto moved to the town of Canelli in Piemonte and started building his winery. Today Contratto is primarily a sparkling wine producer, with a wide range of cuvées. Now a fully mature wine, this 1964 Barolo reveals notes of tar, liquorice and dried flowers, all complemented by smooth, rounded tannins and lasting acidity.
