The Sandrone estate was established in 1978, shortly after Luciano Sandrone acquired a small section of the Cannubi vineyard. In its initial stages, wine production took place in the garage of his parents` residence. It was during a visit to Vinitaly in 1982 that Luciano successfully sold his entire 1978 Barolos to a U.S. distributor, marking the commencement of a gradual and sustained period of expansion. Over time, he acquired additional plots within Cannubi and other vineyards. The 2019 Barolo Aleste, much like Le Vigne, represents yet another outstanding offering from Sandrone. The wine exudes a captivating vibrancy, with flavours of dark cherry, mocha, plum, liquorice, and lavender racing across the palate. While displaying youthful austerity, the 2019 vintage is very promising.
