The Piedmontese DOCG zone of Barbaresco is renowned for delivering some of Italy’s finest wines and Asili from producer Roagna perfectly illustrates its reputation. Grapes come from old vines that are at least 50 years old. In the winery, long aging, wild yeast, and long macerations assure that the essence of its terroir is expressed in the wine. Production is extremely limited, often only about one thousand bottles per vintage. The 2016 vintage will be one to remember with a perfectly balanced growing season that was never too hot. Super silky tannins with aromas of raspberries, cherries and rose petals, a trademark wine from Roagna.
