William Larue Weller (2019 Release)

HED57544 75cl 64%
An excellent wheated Bourbon from Buffalo Trace and one of the stars of their annual "Antique Collection" bottlings. Distilled in 2007 and bottled in 2019, this edition of William Larue Weller is bottled at 64% ABV. The warm Kentucky warehouses meant that distillers lost around 57% of the original distillate to evaporation. The result is a dense, rich whiskey with notes of vanilla, caramel and pecans on the nose before a palate laced with roasted coffee and vanilla and a long finish with notes of dark cherries, chocolate and oak char.

W.L. Weller

W.L. Weller

Part of the Buffalo Trace stable of brands, W. L. Weller is a wheated Bourbon that has become something of a unicorn in the world of American whisky. Bufallo Trace produce six different expressions under the standard Weller label - Antique 107, Full Proof, Special Reserve, 12 Year Old, C.Y.P.B and Single Barrel - and one as part of their Antique Collection - William Larue Weller, a uncut and unfiltered expression.

These are wonderfully soft, wheated Bourbons that offer intense notes of vanilla, ripe red fruit, baking spice and toasted corn - a true delight for fans of sweet, oaky American whisky. Regularly topping polls, the W. L. Weller series has won countless awards and will undoubtedly continue to do so.
