Domaine de l’Arlot has been part of AXA Millésimes since the group’s inception in 1987, reflecting its commitment to preserving historic estates. AXA also owns Pichon Baron, Suduiraut, and Quinta do Noval. Géraldine Godot has led winemaking since 2015, following Jacques Devauges (2011–2014). The 2022 ‘Les Suchots’, from Vosne-Romanée’s largest Premier Cru, is beautifully expressive, with layered black fruit, exotic spice, and a finely etched mineral character. Silky tannins and fresh acidity provide balance, making this a poised and refined vintage.
The 2022 Vosne-Romanée Les Suchots 1er Cru, matured in 40% new oak, is intense on the nose, opulent yet controlled with mainly red berry fruit, allspice and rose petal scents, just a hint of black olive emerging with time. Very well-defined. The medium-bodied palate comes armed with a voluptuous entry, almost viscous in texture, intense yet delineated with a gradual build to its sweet and detailed finish. This will require four to five years to open for business, but it is certainly a "serious" Les Suchots with a wonderful spicy edge.
