The ‘Vinhas Velhas’ is a red wine from the Dão region, made by winemaker Antonio Madeira. The wine is crafted from old vines [vinhas velhas] which typically yield lower quantities of grapes but produce more concentrated and complex flavours. The blend is composed mainly of indigenous grape varieties such as Touriga Nacional, Jaen, Alfrocheiro and Tinta Pinheira. These old vines contribute to the wine`s unique character and depth. Antonio Madeira`s Vinhas Velhas Tinto is known for its elegance, minerality and balanced acidity. On the palate, you can expect flavours of dark fruits, spices and herbal notes, with a persistent finish.
