Bierzo, which became a Denominación de Origen in 1989, is a relatively young wine appellation. However, it boasts remarkable old vineyards that caught the attention of the legendary Priorat winemaker, Álvaro Palacios. In 1998, Palacios, together with his nephew, Ricardo Pérez, founded Descendientes de J. Palacios. They quickly earned an incredible reputation for producing fragrant and elegant wines using the local Mencía variety. The 2021 Villa de Corullón is a floral and elegant wine, showcasing very fine tannins and a pleasing texture. Ready to be enjoyed now.
