Delia Viader began her Napa Valley wine estate in the early 1980s with a vision to create world class wines from vines planted on the rocky volcanic soils of the eastern slopes of Howell Mountain. The Proprietary Red blend was first produced in 1989 and is based mostly Cabernet Sauvignon with a good proportion of Cabernet Franc. The 2000 release is dense and opulent but exhibits admirable freshness and elegance.
