Located in northern Piedmont, Antonio Vallana e Figlio is a prestigious wine producer with a rich history dating back to 1787. Owned by the Vallana family, the estate is renowned for its Nebbiolo-based wines crafted under the Gattinara and broader Piedmont appellations. Among its four Nebbiolo-predominant wines is `Spanna`, named after the local term for the Nebbiolo grape. This particular bottling hails from the 1961 vintage, an excellent year for both Piedmont and Tuscany.
