From the Pira Vineyard in Castiglione Falletto, Solea is an unusual blend of Chardonnay with a small percentage of Nebbiolo vinified as a white wine. Fermented in large casks and aged in neutral barrels for about two years, this is a fantastically refreshing wine with notes of preserved lemon, peach, toasted almond and a spicy creamy texture. Its extra power and textural richness would work well alongside fattier types of fish, such as salmon or swordfish.
