Les Gravières is arguably the finest premier cru site in the Santenay appellation. As the name indicates, the soil here is a quite gravelly, with lots of small rocks over Argovian marl. This particular cuvée is a release from Domaine Bruno Colin, whose vines are 34 years old. Aged for 12 months in oak [25% new], the wine is beautifully scented, revealing notes of black fruits, spices and a touch of violets.
