Sanmarco is a Super Tuscan produced by Castello dei Rampolla, a family-run wine estate situated in the Conca d`Oro Valley. It was first produced in 1980, after early vintages of Sassicaia impressed Alceo di Napoli, Castello di Rampolla`s owner. Sammarco is a Cabernet-dominant blend, with a small percentage of Sangiovese and Merlot. The 2010 Super Tuscan vintage will go down as one of the greatest in history and the established market snapped up their allocations immediately.
