Comando G Rumbo al Norte 2020 is a single-vineyard Garnacha red wine from the Sierra de Gredos in central Spain. Produced from old Garnacha bush vines growing at high altitude on decomposed granite soils, Rumbo al Norte is one of the finest examples of mountain Garnacha in the world and, produced by the dynamic winemaking duo of Daniel Landi and Fernando Garcia. Rumbo Al Norte is considered a `Grand Cru` in the Alto Alberche valley of Gredos, the grapes coming from a 0.3ha plot near the village of Villanueva De Avila. This is arguably most profound of all Comando G single-vineyard wines. Wholebunch fermentation with natural yeasts is followed by an extended post-ferment maceration, with minimal movement, and ageing in large oak foudres.
