Yves Cuilleron is a leading figure amongst a new generation of winemakers in the Rhône Valley. Though the majority of his wines are from Côte-Rôtie and Condrieu, he also produces Ripa Sinistra, a Syrah from the slopes of the Coteau de Seyssuel in IGP Collines Rhodaniennes. This is a profoundly complex wine with remarkably intense notes of dark fruits, woodsmoke, liquorice and garrigue herbs. On the palate it is structured and firm, but displays wonderful freshness, delicate aromatics and excellent finesse. A brilliant food wine that would pair particularly well with pan-roasted duck breast.
