Tua Rita Redigaffi 2020 is a statement Tuscan Merlot from the Tua Rita estate in Livorno, on the coast south of Bolgheri. High-density planting of the vines ensures the low yields that give the estate Merlot grapes such concentration of flavour. In the cellar, winemaker Luca D`Attoma uses extended maceration to optimise colour, flavour and tannic structure. The wine is matured for up to 16 months in fine Burgundy oak barrels. Ripe and deeply structured, Redigaffi 2020 leads with intense yet silky notes of blackberry, spiced plum and follows up with well-integrated spice notes of tobacco, clove and liquorice. A wine that will cellar well for a decade at the least.
