Quinta de la Rosa Reserva is a highly regarded red wine from the Douro, produced by the Quinta de la Rosa winery. The estate has been in the Bergqvist family since 1906, and they have a long tradition of producing high-quality wines and ports. The 2019 vintage is a blend of 30% Touriga Nacional, 30% Touriga Franca and 40% mixed-field old vines. The grapes were foot trodden in granite ‘lagares’ over one evening before being transferred to stainless-steel vats for fermentation. Matured for 20 months in new [50%] and used [50%] French oak casks. Expect aromas of dark fruit, such as blackberries and cherries, along with floral notes, hints of spice and a touch of minerality.
