Based in the Douro, Alves de Sousa is a family-owned estate producing both table and fortified wines. Winemaking is currently overseen by the talented Tiago Alves de Sousa, who won several industry awards in the past five years. ‘Vinha de Lordelo’ is a single vineyard blend of indigenous grape varieties including Touriga Nacional, Malvasia Preta and Tinta Amarela. The nose combines sweet blueberries, prunes, violets and eucalyptus. The palate is powerful but elegant, with notes of dark chocolate, tobacco, baking spices and dried herbs.
