Monday, 22 January 2024  18.30 - 20.30
£100.00 per ticket

Each month in our Hedonism Wine School series, we invite you to join our events manager, Sherry Rose Stolar, for a deep dive tasting featuring a selection of wines from a particular region, grape variety or style. This month, Sherry is joined by sensory scientist Sietze Wijma for a very unique exploration into the world of wine faults. Would you like to understand what “volatile acidity” and “reduction” smell like? Or what the difference is between a taint and an off-flavour? During this tasting, you will learn to identify the six most common faults in wine, including brettanomyces, cork taint, oxidation, reduction, smoke taint and volatile acidity.

In this tasting, guests will have the opportunity to taste six wines, once with a common fault and once as the wine should be, to understand the impact these faults have on our smell and taste of a wine, and to help you recognise faults in your wines going forward.

The full list of wines to be tasted will be released in the coming weeks.

Tickets to this tasting include a £15 voucher, redeemable against any of the wines tasted on the night that are available (the non-faulty versions, of course).

The Glenturret Distillery
Wednesday, 24 January 2024  18.30 - 20.30
£75.00 per ticket

Since 1763, The Glenturret, Scotland's oldest working distillery, has proudly stood at the heart of Scotland's rich and fertile whisky country. Today, the distillery still nestles in its original location on the edge of the historic town of Crieff in the Scottish Highlands overlooking the River Turret. Their dedication to traditional handcrafted whisky making and an unusually slow distillation in hand-beaten copper stills combine to influence and underpin the unique character of their new make spirit. Each limited batch is subtly different to the previous. Since 2019 the distillery has been owned by French luxury glassmaker Lalique, with Lalique-designed bottles, decanters in Lalique crystal and even the opening of The Glenturret Lalique Restaurant, the world's only distillery-based Michelin starred restaurant.

In honour of Burns Night, we're delighted to welcome Global Brand Ambassador Jamie Morrisonto guide us through a range of tasting of The Glenturret 2023 releases, including a selection of the core range and even one of the rare 30 year old bottlings, of which only 500 bottles were made.

In this tasting, guests will have the opportunity to taste the following whiskies:

The Glenturret 7 Year Old Peat Smoked 2023 Release

Niepoort has been an independent family business since its creation in 1842. Today Niepoort is one of Portugal's most iconic producers of both port and table wines. Quinta de Napoles was purchased in 1987 with thirty hectares and Quinta do Carril followed in 1988 with nine hectares. Niepoort now own over eighty hectares of vineyards in the Douro, all farmed organically.

We're thrilled to welcome Daniel Niepoort himself for an incredible tasting of Niepoort's still and fortified wines.

Since its inception, Ornellaia’s production has been influenced and inspired by the Mediterranean character of the coast near Bolgheri. Founded in 1981, Ornellaia has helped establishing this relatively young viticultural area and it is now regarded as one of the world’s most iconic estates. Ornellaia believes that a wine should be the most authentic expression of the terroir from which it originates. In their unique terroir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot are used to craft the icon red wines that made the estate famous, while Sauvignon Blanc, Vermentino, Viognier create extremely low quantities of the two white wines of the estate: Ornellaia Bianco and Poggio alle Gazze dell’Ornellaia. The range is completed by a rare, sweet expression of Petit Manseng, with Ornus dell’Ornellaia.

We're excited to welcome Matteo Zanardello, Export Manager, to guide us through a range of Ornellaia's exceptional wines, including three vintages of the iconic Ornellaia itself.

In this tasting, guests will have the opportunity to taste the following wines:

Poggio alle Gazze 2021

Le Volte 2021

Le Serre Nuove (vintage to be confirmed)

Ornellaia 2020

Ornellaia 2018

Terroir al Limit
Monday, 26 February 2024  18.30 - 20.30
£75.00 per ticket

Terroir al Limit began life in 2001, when food and wine obsessed German Domnik Huber fell in love with Priorat after an internship at Mas Martinet. Forward to today, and Terroir al Limit is successfully establishing itself as a cult winery – arguably one of the very few Spanish producers to achieve this status. In contrast to the heavily extracted and oaked styles that have been so closely associated with Priorat, Domnik’s wines are lithe and elegant, pure and expressive. He introduced organic practices to ensure top quality fruit from his vineyards, began whole-bunch fermentation; gentler extraction; and the stockinger barrels have since been replaced with concrete tanks.

We're excited to welcome Dominik to take us on a journey to Priorat with a selection of Terroir al Limit's wines, including a very special library vintage of the jewel of its flagship range, Les Maynes, only available to taste on the night.

In this tasting, guests will have the opportunity to taste the following wines:

Terroir al Limit Terra du Cuques Blanca 2021

Terroir al Limit Pedra de Guix 2019

Terroir al Limit Pedra de Guix 2021

Terroir al Limit Arbossar 2021

Terroir al Limit Les Manyes 2019

Terroir al Limit Les Manyes 2009

Tickets to this tasting include a £15 voucher, redeemable against any of the Terroir al Limit wines tasted on the night that are available.
