In 1976, the Judgement of Paris changed the way the world viewed fine wine, challenging the established hierarchy by placing California’s finest alongside some of France’s most revered names. Fifty years on, we’re revisiting that pivotal moment, with a decidedly Hedonistic twist.
Having recreated the Judgement of Paris in various forms through our Hedonistic Tastings Series, this time we’re creating our own interpretation, bringing together established icons and some of the most sought-after wines of today. From Screaming Eagle to Pétrus, the line-up brings together legendary names, offering a new perspective on one of wine’s most defining moments.
Guided by David King, among our most knowledgeable Fine Wine & Spirits Specialists and a familiar face at our Hedonistic Tasting events, this promises to be an engaging exploration of some of the world’s most coveted wines.
Guests will be welcomed with a glass of Champagne before being invited to enjoy the following wines, each paired with canapés from our Michelin-starred restaurant, HIDE:
Taittinger Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blancs 2006 - Champagne, France
Kongsgaard Chardonnay 2023 - Napa Valley, California
Domaine Morey Coffinet Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru 2023 - Burgundy, France
Screaming Eagle Cabernet Sauvignon 2008 - Napa Valley, California
Château Margaux 2008 - Margaux, Bordeaux
Château Pétrus 1996 - Pomerol, Bordeaux
Harlan Estate 1996 - Napa Valley, California
In a nod to the legendary Judgement of Paris, the wines will be served blind, challenging guests to step into the role of judge and guess which bottles are from France and which from the United States.
