Alsace
In many ways, Alsace sits apart from the other great wine regions of France. Nestled in the shadow on the Vosges mountains and heavily influenced by their Germanic neighbours, winemakers here focus on the so-called "noble" varieties of Riesling, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc and Gewurztraminer along with a smattering of Pinot Noir.
