Terms and Conditions
Please note that these Terms and Conditions are subject to change without notice. Last updated 16 July 2026
1. Ordering
1.1 We will not sell or deliver alcohol to anyone who is, or appears to be, under the age of 18, or who is below the legal drinking age in the place where the order is placed, delivered or collected, if that age is higher. By placing an order, you confirm that you and any recipient of the order (where different from you) are at least 18 years old and meet the applicable legal drinking-age requirements in the place where the order is placed, delivered or collected. We may request proof of age or other photographic identification at any stage before accepting, processing, dispatching or delivering an order, or when an order is collected. We may operate a Challenge 25 policy, and our delivery partners may apply their own age-verification procedures, including requesting photographic identification and, where applicable, obtaining an adult signature on delivery. We reserve the right to refuse, suspend or cancel any order, or to refuse delivery or collection, if we are unable to verify the age of the purchaser or recipient, or if we reasonably believe that any applicable legal requirements relating to the sale or delivery of alcohol have not been met.
1.2 If a product is unavailable when you place your order, we will contact you to arrange a replacement or make another arrangement to fulfil your order.
1.3 Placing an order on our website does not constitute a contract. A contract is formed only when we accept your order and process payment.
1.4 We reserve the right not to accept any order.
1.5 All goods are offered subject to availability.
1.6 Any order that remains uncollected from Hedonism Wines after 90 days will be refunded unless an agreement has been made with the client to extend this period.
2. Delivery
2.1 For all orders, the delivery window will be confirmed during the checkout process. We will do everything we can to meet this timeframe; however, we accept no liability for goods that fail to arrive within this window due to circumstances that we consider to be beyond our control.
2.2 If multiple unsuccessful delivery attempts are made and re-dispatch is required, we reserve the right to pass on the cost of redelivery.
2.3 Standard delivery to a Mainland UK address starts from £8.95. UK orders are dispatched using DHL's Domestic Express service and usually arrive within 1 to 3 working days. European orders are dispatched using DHL's Express or Economy Select services. Transit times vary by service and destination; please email logistics@hedonism.co.uk for further details. Delivery times for Rest of the World orders (outside the UK and Europe) vary by destination. Delivery of alcohol is subject to the age-verification requirements set out in paragraph 1.1.
2.4 Any local excise duties and taxes are the responsibility of the customer. We cannot be held responsible for any additional charges levied by local customs authorities. Your local customs authority may require specific paperwork, certificates or other documentation to clear the goods. The preparation or procurement of such paperwork is solely the customer's responsibility. Hedonism Drinks will not be responsible for delays caused by local customs authorities.

4.3 If your order is damaged while being transported under Hedonism Wines' control, you must report the damage to Hedonism Wines as soon as possible and no later than 48 hours after receiving the order. Photographic evidence and a written description of the damage will be required so that we can assess whether a refund is due. All goods transported under Hedonism Wines' control are fully covered by our marine transit policy unless explicitly stated otherwise during the transaction.

11. Whisky Cask Sales
11.1 Ownership and Transfer
Ownership of the cask passes to the buyer upon receipt of full payment. A Delivery Order (DO) will be issued to facilitate the transfer of ownership, which will be processed by the bonded warehouse. Once the warehouse confirms the transfer, the buyer becomes the legal owner of the cask.
Please note that the physical transfer of casks and the issuance of Delivery Orders may take several weeks or months, depending on the cask location and the inbounding capacity of the receiving warehouse. Hedonism Wines will provide confirmation once the transfer is complete and issue a copy of the Delivery Order for the client to countersign and retain for their records.
11.2 Storage and Insurance
Unless a period of free storage and insurance has been agreed, the buyer is responsible for all storage fees, which are payable directly to the bonded warehouse. Storage costs vary by facility but are typically around £150 per cask per year as of 2025. Fees are usually billed annually.
Unless a period of insurance cover has been agreed, the buyer is also responsible for insuring the cask. Insurance premiums vary but generally cost approximately 0.5% of the cask's value per year. Hedonism Wines can assist in arranging suitable insurance coverage upon request.
11.3 Cask Maintenance and Administration
Buyers are advised to arrange regular regauging to monitor the condition and contents of their casks. All costs associated with regauging and cask checks are the buyer's responsibility.
Requests for services such as sampling, re-racking or bottling will incur additional charges at the prevailing rates set by the warehouse or service provider. These services must be arranged directly with the relevant facility.
11.4 Quality and Maturation
The maturation of whisky is influenced by various factors, including cask type, warehouse conditions and the nature of the spirit. Hedonism Wines does not guarantee any specific maturation outcome.
Natural evaporation, known as the "angel's share", typically results in an average loss of approximately 2% of the cask's contents per year. This rate may vary depending on storage conditions and other factors. The angel's share may be higher during the initial years of maturation or after re-racking into a new cask.
Buyers acknowledge that the whisky's quality and volume may change over time, and such changes are inherent risks of cask ownership.
11.5 Withdrawal and Bottling
When withdrawing a cask for bottling, all costs related to bottling, labelling and transportation are the buyer's responsibility. Hedonism Wines may assist in identifying third-party bottlers that comply with HMRC regulations.
Bottling must be conducted by a licensed third party in accordance with all legal and regulatory requirements. Hedonism Wines does not offer bottling services and bears no liability for the bottling process.
11.6 Resale of Casks
If the buyer wishes to resell a cask, Hedonism Wines may assist with the transaction. Any facilitation fees will be discussed and agreed in advance.
11.7 Liability
Hedonism Wines is not liable for any loss of or damage to a cask or its contents caused by leakage, evaporation, natural disasters or other events beyond our control. This includes damage caused by changes in temperature or humidity, warehouse accidents, structural failures or other unforeseen events.
The bonded warehouse's terms of service, including any limitations of liability, will also apply. Buyers should familiarise themselves with those terms before proceeding with storage.
Please note that the sale and purchase of whisky casks is not a regulated investment activity and is not overseen by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) or any other financial regulator.
11.8 Termination
Non-payment of fees or breach of these Terms and Conditions may result in termination of the agreement. Hedonism Wines reserves the right to sell or dispose of the cask to recover outstanding costs.
11.9 Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
11.10 Amendments
Hedonism Wines reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. Changes will be communicated, and continued participation in the cask programme implies acceptance of the revised Terms and Conditions.
