An exciting and original single-varietal Petit Verdot from Spanish producer, Abadía Retuerta. The scorching sun of Castile, a particular terroir with predominantly sandy soil, and several months of ageing in oak barrels bestow an exquisite character on this wine. With a serious, attractive nose, offering up mineral notes, graphite, candied and spiced fruits, liquorice, cloves, black pepper. At first it is smooth on the palate, before becoming a vibrant, luscious wine, with a real kick, lively and electric. A harmonious balance of structure, alcohol and acidity. A wine with great ageing potential. Sold here in marvellous 600cl format.
