Petit Verdot

Petit Verdot is one of Bordeaux's lesser known grapes, but one which plays an important role in the multi-varietal blends that the region is famous for where it is used to add tannin, colour and flavour wines. In warmer climates with longer growing seasons such as Australia, USA and Argentina, Petit Verdot is often vinified as a single varietal wine where it can offer alluring aromas of violent and pencil shavings in youth evolving to offer attractive leathery notes as it matures.
