The 2017 Pontet Labrie has a pure bouquet with lifted dark cherries, pain d’épices and crushed stone aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, quite forward and pliant in the mouth. A nicely poised, cedar-tinged finish gently fans out. This is a fine Saint-Émilion that should age with style. - Neil Martin
Here is the 2017 vintage from Château Pontet Labrie, a limited-quantity single vineyard wine made by Jonathan Maltus. In the words of critic Antonio Galloni, "the 2017 is positively stellar. Big, ample and rich, this dark-fruited, floral wine finishes with tremendous depth and a good deal of grip, too."
