Founded in 1983, Peter Michel Winery is a boutique producer of phenomenally high-quality Californian wines made in the model of the great wines of Bordeaux and Burgundy. Les Pavots is the flagship red blend and comes from a single rocky vineyard planted at 900-1,400ft elevation in the Knights Valley AVA, Sonoma County. The 2002 is an opulent, deeply complex and sumptuously textured blend of 71% Caberent Sauvignon, 12% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and 7% Petit Verdot. A stellar effort from an excellent vintage.
