Insignia is the flagship wine from the legendary family-owned and run Joseph Phelps Vineyards winery in California. The 2000 vintage is a blend of 77% Cabernet Sauvignon and 18% Merlot with support from small portions of Petit Verdot, Malbec and Cabernet Franc. It is concentrated and dark with ample black fruit, cinnamon, tobacco and graphite. With 20 years of bottle age it is now supple and rounded with a long, spice-infused finish.
