A former rugby union player, Gérard Bertrand took over the family estate in Corbières in 1992 and has since expanded his operations, acquiring numerous vineyards and becoming a global ambassador for Languedoc wines. Orange Gold pays tribute to the first orange wines made in Georgia, 4500 years ago. It is an exquisite blend of Chardonnay, Grenache Blanc, Viognier, Marsanne, Mauzac, Muscat, and Clairette fermented in stainless steel before completing its ageing in the barrel. Bertrand says the colour reminds him of the sunsets he sees some 300 days a year in the south of France.
