The 2018 Nuits Saint-Georges Village is a cuvée I tasted last year, when I remarked that it seemed a little monotone. Twelve months later, I see no reason to change that view, although the aromatics have opened a little and gained some complexity. - Neil Martin
Having its roots traced back to 1919, Henri Gouges stands as a prestigious family-owned estate renowned for crafting wines with structure and aging potential. Presently, the estate`s vineyard holdings span approximately 14.5 hectares, encompassing parcels in seven Premier Cru sites. This particular village-level Nuits-Saint-Georges is skilfully composed, blending grapes from five distinct climates, namely the Plateaux, Belles Croix, Fleurières, Brûlées, and the Chaliots. The resulting wine exudes a pure and abundant character, revealing its full potential over time. To truly appreciate its finest qualities, it is recommended to allow it a few years of maturation in the cellar.
