Martin Ray Diamond Mountain District Cabernet Sauvignon 1995 is a full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon blend from the Diamond Mountain AVA of California`s Napa Valley. The family-owned Martin Ray Vineyard and Winery was founded in 1943. Founder Martin Ray was one of the pioneers of single-variety wine in California. The property is now owned by Courtney Benham, creator of the successful Blackstone wine brand. The rugged, elevated vineyard site of Diamond Mountain is rightly renowned for producing intense, full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignons with very ripe tannins. The winery`s 1995 Mountain District Cabernet is a dark and brooding example of the variety suitable for medium to long-term cellaring. "Dark, ripe, rich and plush, with dense, chewy, complex currant, anise, mineral, cedar and spice. Tightly focused, deep and concentrated, with lots more anise, currant, tar and berry flavours on the amazingly long finish." Wine Spectator, 1998
