Álvaro Palacios, hailing from the esteemed Palacios Remondo family in Rioja, studied enology in Bordeaux and worked under Jean-Pierre Moueix at Château Pétrus. After his tenure at Pétrus, he was drawn to the Priorat region, where he established his own winery.
